Cellophane self-adhesive

2025 04/17

I. Core Features and Technical Analysis
Material composition
Surface material: Usually, transparent or semi-transparent cellophane (regenerated cellulose membrane) is adopted, with a thickness generally ranging from 0.02 to 0.05mm. It features degradability and good mechanical strength.
Adhesives: Common acrylate or rubber-based adhesives are classified into two types: permanent (such as EVA adhesive) and removable (such as silicone). For example, the removable adhesive (R adhesive type) adopts preformed adhesive dot technology, leaving no residual adhesive after pasting.
Base paper: Mostly Glassine paper or polyester film (PET), with a silicon coating on the surface to ensure the release effect.
Key performance
Temperature resistance: Ordinary cellophane self-adhesive can maintain its stickiness within the range of -20 ℃ to 80℃. Special formulas (such as those containing silicone resin) can withstand a high temperature of 120℃ (such as labels for baked goods).
Water resistance: Some products achieve IPX7 level water resistance by applying a waterproof coating (such as PVDC), making them suitable for refrigerated food or bathroom labels.
Environmental protection certification: Complies with standards such as FSC (Forest Certification), ENF grade (formaldehyde emission ≤0.025mg/m³), and RoHS (EU Hazardous Substance Limit), for instance, the FSC-certified cellulose stickers provided by a certain manufacturer in Jiangxi.
Ii. Application Scenarios and Industry Cases
Packaging field
Food packaging: Transparent labels for candies, tea, and baked goods, in compliance with FDA food contact safety standards. For instance, the British supermarket chain Waitrose has adopted biodegradable cellophane self-adhesive labels to enhance its brand's eco-friendly image.
Cosmetics: Matte or pearlescent cellophane self-adhesive is often used on the bottle bodies of high-end skin care products, and the gilding process is used to enhance the texture (such as the label of Guerlain perfume from France).
Medicine: Chemically resistant cellophane self-adhesive is used for the labels of drug instructions and can withstand alcohol disinfection.
Industry and Logistics
Electronic component marking: High-temperature resistant cellophane self-adhesive (such as 3M™ 7810) is used for circuit board labels and can withstand wave soldering processes (260℃).
Logistics labels: Removable adhesive labels are used for express delivery waybills. After being torn off, there is no residue, reducing paper waste.
